Canadian Babbitt Bearings Ltd. was founded in 1981 on the basic
premise that there was a need in industry for a specialized
babbitt bearings manufacturer. We are a facility solely devoted
to the manufacture and service of babbitt bearings, therefore our
customers can be assured they are receiving the most cost
efficient production combined with superior quality. Canadian
Babbitt Bearings is currently the largest babbitt company in
Canada.
CBB has state of the art computerized machining equipment and one
of the largest centrifugal casting machines in North America. We
can centrifugally cast babbitt into bearings up to 84 outside
diameter and a length up to 64 with a maximum weight of 7 tons.
This specialized equipment means we can produce high volume,
uniformly machined bearings to O.E.M. specifications to provide
the quality our customers demand at competitive prices.
Typical product applications include steam turbines, hydraulic
turbines, gas turbines, electric motors, pumps, compressors,
mills, crushers, fans, gearboxes and mine hoists.
We manufacture and repair all types of babbitted bearings
including seals, tilting pad assemblies and shoes both radial
and thrust. The company services heavy industry, mines, and it
also holds major contracts with O.E.M.s and Public Utility
firms.
In the event of an emergency breakdown situation we have the
capability to work around the clock to keep industry turning.
Our bearings are manufactured or rebuilt from virgin babbitt
material. Each bearing is ultrasonically tested by an independent
testing firm to verify the percentage of bonded contact, normally
in excess of 95% of surface area. A certificate of bond is issued
with each bearing that leaves our facility. Canadian Babbitt
Bearings is a member of the Q.M.I. in addition to being an
approved manufacturer for many North American O.E.M.s of
rotating equipment. We are ISO 9002 certified.
