ProScience Inc. (formerly Johns Scientific Inc.) is a Canadian
owned and operated company, manufacturing Scientific &
Pharmaceutical Glassware since 1928.
In 1972 ProScience started the SciCan Scientific Division
in Cobourg, Ontario to manufacture Laboratory Glassware.
SciCan Scientific manufactures a complete line of Disposable
Glass Culture Tubes, Pasteur Pipettes, Screw Cap Tubes and
Vials.
In 1991, SciCan Scientific moved into a modern, new plant on the
shores of Lake Ontario to better service its customers in Canada
and around the world. SciCan now exports more than 75% of its
production worldwide, including to very quality conscious
customers in the U.S., Germany and Japan. We employ approximately
100 people, with over 100,000 square feet for manufacturing and
storage, and with sufficient property for expansion.
During the last two years ProScience has been working towards
ISO 9000 certification. Most customers have already benefited
from this program, and further improvements are to come.
ProScience/SciCan is cooperating with several other Canadian
manufacturers of Laboratory Supply Items to reduce shipping
costs by consolidation of shipments to distant locations
(i.e. Starplex Scientific - Plastic Labware).
Products manufactured: Disposable Laboratory and Pharmaceutical
Glassware, including culture tubes, test tubes, pasteur pipettes,
screw thread vials and tubes, serum vials and shell vials.
